Stag client, Efficiency East Midlands (EEM) held one of its biggest construction buying events of the year in early October – the EEM Supply Chain Showcase.
A fantastically attended event, the Supply Chain Showcase was an opportunity for EEM contractors to meet with members and prospective members to discuss the benefits of working together through the EEM frameworks.
As part of the event, EEM had invited off-site manufacture specialists, Modular Space Ltd, to do something a little different in terms of their showcase.
In a car park opposite the exhibition hall at Trent Vineyard in Lenton, Nottingham, Modular Space had erected a full-size two bedroom detached home – put together on-site in just five hours!
The house arrived in Nottingham late on Monday afternoon on the back of two lorries after making the two and a half hour journey from the firm’s base in Hull.
This was the first time Modular Space Ltd had erected a two storey property. The firm specialises in the design, construction and installation of portable and modular buildings for sale or hire, to a wide variety of sectors including accommodation, commercial, construction, education and healthcare.
The five hour construction was captured by Stag’s videographer, Mark Hitchings, and can be seen here:
The story was also picked up by the team at ITV who shared it countrywide on their social media channels, with Stag’s vimeo link receiving in excess of a thousand views.
In the days that followed the erection of the structure, the fully plastered and structurally sound house was fitted with a kitchen, bathroom and decorated throughout, in time for the showcase, to show housing providers and councils just what can be done with modern methods of construction using off-site manufacture.
The Supply Chain Showcase was a fantastic event and was an inspired way to showcase this fantastic alternative to a traditional build.
