Remit Training is a national training provider delivering apprenticeships in a range of industries including automotive, IT, customer service and food & hospitality. This Remit case study looks at what we achieved.
We worked with Remit Training for more than 18 months on their PR and Communications support, delivering more than £225,000 of coverage (based on equivalent advertising value), raising the company’s profile and driving forward a number of key message campaigns for both the business itself and apprenticeships on the whole.
In August 2013 Remit came to us with a particularly request.
The company provides sales apprenticeships through car dealerships. A particular Mercedes Benz dealership in Newbury, Berkshire, was offering a £15,000 a year apprenticeship with training and nationally recognised qualifications, and the potential to earn further commission.
This type of salary is unheard of in apprenticeships, as many earn the national average wage of less than £3 an hour.
Despite this fantastic opportunity, there had not been one applicant in the whole of Newbury and Remit needed to fill this position fast.
We set about a targeted campaign appealing to local radio stations, papers and social media sites. The story was picked up widely in the Newbury area, receiving outstanding support from the local paper. The story was so poignant at a time with high youth unemployment that it was also picked up by the Daily Mail.
In just a week there were 29 excellent eligible applicants banging down the door to get on to this apprenticeship. An instant result, offering direct benefits to the client!
