Nottingham’s best view as decided by BBC Radio Nottingham.
Nottingham City Homes’ Greener Housing initiative, in partnership with Nottingham City Council, is providing external wall insulation for up to 18,000 homes around the city. The phase in Sneinton, Nottingham includes the refurbishment of high rise tower blocks Bentinck Court, Manvers Court and Kingston Court.
The £7.5 million package of works will help tenants of 270 flats not only save money on their fuel bills through energy efficiency but also to feel much warmer during winter months.
The works will include new balconies for every home meaning residents can enjoy the sweeping views of the city from a more weather-proof environment.
The overall look of the tower blocks will dramatically improve with the new render finish on the exterior of the building. The brighter exteriors will give the blocks a brand new lease of life, meaning then are fit for an excellent quality of living in the coming years.
We invited Sarah Julian from BBC Radio Nottingham to come and speak to tenants from Kingston Court, to find out what the refurbishment means to them and also to see Nottingham’s best view from the top of the tower.
